Yeah, yesterday was Brazil's last game in this World Cup, against Norway. They lost 2-1.
I didn't watch the game, just like I haven't watched a single game this World Cup. But what a disgrace, right?!
I'm not a big soccer fan, and I think this 2026 World Cup, with the added factor of betting sites buying up all the time slots and online streams, makes it hard to follow.
I hate commercials. I'll expand more on that another day.
And the players? And "Brasa" [the Brazilian team new name according to Nike marketing team desires]? I only know Vini Jr. and Neymar; I don't even know the names of the rest.
I don't know about you guys, but this year I just wasn't in the World Cup mood, and the people around me didn't seem to be genuinely cheering either. We all knew the team was weak. Getting past Japan was a struggle, and mind you, Japan isn't even an Argentina or a France, it was just Japan.
World Cup stickers… I saw some students at school with them, but I didn't see much excitement. Way too much money for a collection based on random chances. I heard it takes about 1.5 to 2 thousand reais to complete the album. It’s a symptom of our national inequality. It's definitely not for me.
The only news I saw about Brazil was the "Brasa" jersey with the Jordan logo. What a joke! Soccer isn't even for the Brazilian people anymore; it belongs to foreign corporations. Pathetic from the start.
This was never about soccer; this is just a transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in the name of "entertainment." The "business" swallowed the sport. From the stickers, the jerseys, the flags, all the way to the beer, with sports betting running wild during the broadcasts. The game and sports gambling are putting a ton of people into debt.
After all, it's soccer, folks. The pure essence of Brazilian "culture."
